In what is often seen as a leading indicator, online shoppers spent more than $51 billion online in the second
quarter, up 15.1% from a year ago, according to just released U.S. Department of Commerce
reports.
This quarter also marks the first time e-commerce accounted for more
than 5% of seasonally adjusted total retail spending.
